Nap Revolt

My 2.5 week old daughter has decided that naps were sooo last week. Over the past two days the only way we can get her to sleep longer than 10 minutes at time during the day is for her to be attached to me. As in attached like a calf to the milk cow. She's also really restless at night - when she sleeps she grunts and complains and cries out a lot.

Oh - gotta go, she's awake again and crying.

  2. Hey, Heather! I feel your pain :) Have you tried a swaddle blanket with velcro like the kiddopotamus one? You can make them nice and tight and they feel pretty secure. I would try that, then a sleep positioner that puts her head a little above her body and has things on the side to hold her in. If neither of those work, she might be a side/belly sleeper. Once she can hold her neck up and move around a little, you could try putting her on her side (or *gasp* belly--but don't tell the doc!) to sleep. Good luck! It will get better :)

  4. Oh, stink! Good luck. Swaddling helped us, or putting something in the bassinette that smelled like my milk.
Not sleeping STINKS!!! I'm so sorry!

  5. Thankfully, I think we have some of this resolved now. We got rid of the "napper" (Moses basket) and have put her into the playpen/crib itself. This seems to let her stretch out more. She is a side sleeper, which we discovered day 2 in the hospital with the help of the nurse. She's taken nice long naps the last 2 days! Whew!
